I know, I know… I shouldn’t talk about a donkey here on WordPress. Somehow it just fits.
I have been a bad Blogger. Seems having fun, while traveling around may have muddled my brain. We have been camping in Voyageur since Friday. Started off at Silver Lake Recreation area and then moved here to Chassahowitzka River Campground. The weather has been perfect. Plenty of sunny days and nice late evening rain. The only bad thing was… I lost my new camera. Still have not ordered another one. I would love suggestions for a waterproof, lightweight, digital camera…
I am going to post this one photo from my phone and then launch Camo-Tow for some fishing. Soon as Lucy and I are back at Site 17, I will post a proper “BLOG”. I don’t want her too get angry. She is Readsy to hit the river NOW.
The Chassahowitzka River is crystal clear. Lots of fish and other aquatic life. I bought a long handled crab net at the campground store and we hope to boil up some tasty Blue Crabs this evening… Liz and Doreen are doing a marvelous job of running the campground and making us feel right at home. The facilities are pristine and the traffic low. As long as you don’t mind DEET spray on your exposed body-parts, sitting out by the fire in the lush tropical rainforest surroundings is stellar… “GONE FISHIN”…

I feel like we are in Snow White’s forest all hunkered in here – privacy galore! I can stay inside in the rain all day and love it. Everything is comfortable and at my fingertips. Do the same things I do in the house. Of course this is not new to us as we have lived in yachts, large motor homes and small spaces a lot of our lives. Something about it appeals to both of us. We are a good match and having fun.

My family loves Chaz! We camp there often & visit the river even more 🙂 I love being a Floridian & living so close to the many beautiful rivers we have here. Chaz & Weeki Wachee are our favorites. Love to paddle 😉

“Mrs. Gray”… I am sorry I just now saw your post. We are having so much fun “Finally” getting to travel in our Roadtrek, I have not been keeping my blog up to date. I am sorry for not replying sooner. As you know, I was born in Florida. After Lucy and I spent many evenings talking about far away (Lots of gas money) places we wanted to visit, we realized we have only explored thirty percent of the state we live in and love. We are going to focus on getting to really know the back roads and small towns of the Sunshine State. I hope we will meet you one day. Thank you for the comment…

Hi David, I just came across your blog. I’m on my way next week to get a 1991 roadtrek near Houston. All the research I did never made me think of rust! Now I’m paranoid. It’s an old RV that’s been sitting a long while, but passes inspection each year. One owner. I’m getting it super cheap as these things go and I’m prepared for major poblems like an engine or generator, etc… But the rust thing scars me. I’m kind of prepared to get it no matter what, but it’s not going to be easy for me to have a separate mechanic inspect it before hand. I sort of have to do that all myself.
I wonder, if I’m taking worst case scaneria, like your issues, will it break the bank? Obvioulsy every case is different. All I can say is that I’m purchasing this at about 1/2 the price as I see most others. And I’m crossing my fingers. Any words of wisdom, please let me know! Tks.
